Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Recruitment of 1815 Direct Sales Executives






Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Chennai invited online applications for recruitment of 1815 Direct Sales Executives on contract basis for a period of 3 years in its 13 marketing units / Branch offices under Southern Zonal Office. Interested eligible candidates can apply till 28 December 2012.

Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit (as on 01 December 2012):
Minimum: 21 years.
Maximum: 35 years.
(Max. age limit for OBC candidates is 38 years and for SC / ST candidates is 40 years).

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC recognized University. Preference will be given to candidates having Degree / Diploma in Marketing /Management.
Knowledge of English and one Regional language (preferably local language) is desirable.
Knowledge of soft skills such as Power Point / Word / Excel would be additional advantage.

Application Fee: An application fee of Rs.100 has to be deposited in cash in a/c No. 114034 at any Branch office of Life Insurance Corporation of India.
[SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee.]

A “Miscellaneous receipt” will be issued by the LIC of India as token of the fees collected.  Candidates are required to keep the original and photocopy of the ‘Miscellaneous receipt’ for future use.
Candidates can register on-line only after obtaining the ‘Miscellaneous receipt’ for payment of application fee as fee deposit details are to be filled in the online application form. Without the ‘Miscellaneous Receipt’, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test / Interview.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in personal Interview.
If the number of applications received is large, the corporation may hold a written test to shortlist candidates for the Interview. The written test, if held, will have Multiple Choice Objective Type questions on Sales aptitude, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge. Those qualifying the written test will be called for Interview.
The date and venue of the written test will be communicated to the eligible candidates through email and also posted on LIC’s website http://www.licindia.in. Candidates are advised to regularly check the site for this purpose.

Interview: Eligible candidates (shortlisted directly / those who qualify the written test) will be called for an Interview. The Corporation reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and / or interview commensurate with number of Direct Sales Executives to be engaged.
Candidates can download the call letter for written test / Interview from LIC’s website www.licindia.in. They will have to submit the call letter along with the Miscellaneous Receipt at the time of written test / Interview.

Medical Examination & Training: Candidates qualifying the Interview will have to clear a medical examination, to be carried out by a Medical Examiner authorized by LIC for the purpose. Those found medically fit will have to undergo a Theoretical training and pass IRDA licensing test for obtaining the license to procure Life Insurance Business within a maximum period of three months in maximum three attempts, following which he /she  will be engaged as an apprentice Direct Sales Executive (DSE).
During apprenticeship, the candidate will be given an insurance related training. The apprentice DSE will be paid a fixed one time stipend of Rs.3500. On completion of the apprenticeship, candidates will be required to pass a test on the same. Those passing the test will be engaged as Direct Sales Executive on contract basis for a period of 3 years.

Remuneration:  Performance based monthly remuneration.
[The quantum is dependent on DSE’s achievement of specific business benchmarks and performance of assigned tasks to the satisfaction of Corporation.]

How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates can apply online through http://www.licindia.in/careers.htm. till 28 December 2012. On successful submission of the online application form, a Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system. Candidates are required to retain this Registration Number and Password and print out of the submitted application form for future use.
A copy of the Application print out is to be submitted at the time of Interview.

Note:
Spouse of employees and agents of LIC of India are not eligible.
Candidates, in their own interest, are advised to register only single application because if more than one application is received from a candidate either for the same Division and / or different Divisions and / or different Zones then, the first application received from the applicant as per on-line record will be treated as his /her only application and all other applications shall be treated as invalid.
Selection as a Direct Sales Executive does not confer any right on the candidate to be appointed as an employee in the Corporation
